Around one-thirds of Senate seats are contested every two years. This year, the locations of those races were disproportionately red. On the other hand, the House races encompass 100% of the country, a more accurate sampling of national sentiment . Yes indeed, lots of rebuking there as well, as evidenced by the results.

2 years ago people would have said only losing a seat or 2 would be a victory for Democrats.
