Schumer Warns of Constitutional Crisis After AG Exit

Upon learning the bombshell news that Attorney General Jeff Sessions was out on Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer quickly warned of a constitutional crisis.

A new attorney general must not interfere with the investigation from special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign, the New York Democrat warned. Schumer was handed a paper informing him of the Sessions news during a press conference and he told reporters that any tampering the Mueller probe would amount to a "constitutional crisis."

"Protecting Mueller and his investigation is paramount," he said it would create a constitutional crisis if this were a prelude on ending the Mueller probe.”

Matthew Whitaker, Sessions's chief of staff, was set to take over as the acting attorney general.

meh...actually probably just a few acerbic op-eds, stern words from some corners of congress, fuckface will say something stupid, his fans will complain that he's the most unfairly persecuted president ever, and then everyone gets distracted by some new ridiculous event, and we just go on as if this whole situation hasn't been completely fucked from the beginning.

Truth is Sessions was fired. How might that affect how Trump can replace the AG and who is actually eligible?

Will people seriously take to the streets if fuckface instructs one of his goons to fire Mueller, or otherwise continues to obstruct justice? Or will everyone just ooh and aah and carry on much as we have for the past two years, pretending any of this is normal and just hoping that society doesn't collapse?

The Republicans have fucked this country up completely. The "constitutional crisis" is that these depraved scumbags continue to find ways to bend the rules and make the system work in their favor, and that we have 100 million or more stupid assholes in this country who have no problem with an authoritarian dictatorship replacing our supposed representative democracy.
