Despite marijuana becoming in legal in Michigan it could be 2 years before any shops can open

And apparently 'edibles' aren't included in the legalization! Which bums me out because that's what I'm interested in.

However, after the results are certified, possessing marijuana will be legal, subject to complying with the regulations (no more than 12 plants per household, supply must be in a secured area, etc).

So, I guess I'll have to get some recipes!

So I figured getting the roll out for full legalization wouldn't take a long time. Silly me!

I think it's funny that a couple of senior women are discussing growing weed

Everyone thought it would be the young uns who wanted to legalize it, but those of us getting older can see we may need it some day. I'd rather do that than pills.

...and every state in legal land has to iron out all the crap. For instance wash state residents can NOT grow recreationally....we have to have a med card for grows.....and then its only 6! But we were the first to allow it legally.....beating Co by 6 days so we are some of the old timers and its getting tweaked all the time. But no edibles? that sux..with 12 plants hell you can bake brownies forever.

Advice: get a grow box. I got a Bloom Box from BC Northern Lights and it grows 9 plants...and a separate chamber for clones.

12 plants sounds like quite a decent amount to be able to grow at home - not sure if I'll get on the growing train but its certainly worth looking at until the rec shops open.

I'll tell you this - between the marijuana legalization, gerrymandering remedy and fixing and simplifying our voting system, Michigan made some MASSIVE changes, last night. Since 2016 I've been discouraged and very tempted to sell up, cash out and head someplace else. Now I'm thinking, no matter where I may wander, this is going to be the place I will always call "Home".

They did just 'enhance' and tighten up on the licensing of medical marijuana shops - closed a whole lot of them but they can re-apply. I'm thinking a lot of those might just apply for a regular 'retail' type license.

Meanwhile, I suspect there will be a whole lot of grow lights being sold.

One big issue is because of federal strictures, banking will be an issue, which affect credit and debit cards (may not be able to use them, making the business cash only).

Florida took around a year after medical marijuana was approved to get it rolled out to counties, this is even though a pilot program was already up and running before the vote.

I don't need to say this to DU people. But in Florida and other places that have legal pot, I don't notice any differences. I haven't been to Colorado for a while, so can't say anything about that other than how long it seemed to have taken to get regs.
