Don't let Sessions's firing erase what happened to Jim Acosta.

Yes, the firing of Sessions is a constitutional crisis and the biggest story since the firing of Comey, but what happened to Jim Acosta today was an attack on our democracy.

Trump, an indecent and unworthy human being just disrespected a decent and worthy human being.

Not only did he disrespect Acosta, Trump disrespected our founders, the constitution, our veterans who died protecting it, and the American people at large.

What happened in that press conference was one of the most despicable things I have ever seen take place in the White House.

Jim Acosta has given far more to this country than Trump and his playtime presidency ever will.

Trump is unfit to kiss Jim Acosta's ass.

I do know that the media is going to have to be a part of the resistance. Not because they are partisan, but because nothing makes the darkness go like the light.

I think we will know who the leader is in the coming months. Right now we have a mix of Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, The Obamas, Beto O'Rourke, Diane Finestein, and Joe Biden. A few others, too.

But we aren't going to know who will lead us for the next two years until we get to know the people who were just elected to Congress a little better. That may take two or three months. We literally just got a whole new class of people. They are going to have new ideas and new voices. We will learn more from them.

For example, I liked the way Coner Lamb sounded on New Day. I liked how Beto O'Rourke sounded at the town hall. I have long loved Elizabeth Warren. Nancy is a great fundraiser, Schumer is a good deal maker, Sanders is a great speaker, Joe Biden is a great explainer, Kamala has fire and personality etc.

I am happy with our leaders. Do we have the new Obama just yet? No, but when Obama came along... we didn't have him until we had him.

Jim Acosta is someone I am willing to fight for and I hope others are, too.

It's not just Jim Acosta but what he represents. He represents the truth and the truth will always win out in the end.
