Pelosi should designate a team to deal with tRump antics so Dems can play most effective offense.

Focus will be absolutely critical, and daily crazy distractions will abound. There is so much to unwind and fix, and urgent progress to forge forward with. The pair of tRump and McConnell will be hell bent on preventing that, and they are masters of capturing attention, riling up the public and the media, pulling strings and breaking rules to thwart us.

We must not be derailed. Eyes on the prize.

Empowering a team of sharp and creative PR, legal, and procedural experts to be on the front lines to respond will go a long way to helping our team gain ground.

We can’t play nice with beasts. We can still be classy but be ace fighters. Would be great to set up co-leadership of the team by one of our newly elected fresh faces and one of our shrewd, experienced folks.

Tacticians. Strategists.

since they can’t reasonably argue many of their positions truthfully. They have to resort to disparagement, vicious ad hominem attacks, exceeding ethical bounds, twisting rules.
We need to both act and strengthen our control of the narrative beyond their ceaseless clattering noise.

Nasty Republican antics weren't invented 2 years ago, after all.

Let's remember that they did their very best to turn Clinton's into a failed presidency, no matter the cost to the nation, including by creating a poisonous quagmire of constant fake controversy. They failed, and that was even though the midterms turned congress over to the Republicans. Democrats still got a great deal done, and it wasn't accident. We're not meaner and lack their advantages of corruption, but we're better and smarter.

They committed with breathtaking vicious ruthlessness to making sure Obama and Democrats in congress accomplished NOTHING, no matter the cost to the nation. Again they failed, even though the voters once again gave congress to the Republicans. Obama did amazingly under very difficult circumstances and, again, none of it was by accident.

I like the ideas, good for discussing, but maybe in the form of "I wonder if they..."? "Don't try to teach your grandma to suck eggs" came to mind for the first time yesterday in probably about 50 years, and here it is again. I suspect my own grandma was born after those days, hard to imagine her doing it anyway.

Combine with Proud Liberal Dem's post down-thread, "Trump Rapid Response Team", and staff it with lawyers, paralegals, and quick-witted snarkers. It would leave the Representatives time to represent their constituencies in actual governing matters.

The 2020 campaign should be about the Republican Corruption.

There are literally 100s of cases of corruption to investigate, choose wisely and be selective. If all of the 100s make headlines then the public will get scandal fatigue. Pick the ones that are most likely to hit a nerve with middle America and make a big deal out of them, hold press conference, invite the press selectively.

Listen, the House means that the Dems can negotiate and can block some of the most harmful laws Trump wants. But the 2020 cycle starts today, every action should be with 2020 in mind. And that includes who is voted as the Speaker.

Our new Congress doesn’t take over until January, so Trump will have two months to run over everything he can.

But there are other ways, other avenues. People like Avenatti who believes in getting down and dirty in a fight are good to have right now. I hope they all step up.
