Are there any showbiz burnouts or has-beens in the liberal camp?

Seems every time I see a showbiz burnout or has-been, (latest being Dave Mustaine from "Megadeth,&quot they end up in the ranks of the right-wingers.

Are there any liberals like this?

3. Pretty much after Roger

He had the attention of most of America with that one. His next few movies did nothing but feed the cult following he already had so he started distorting facts in order to create hyper-partisan hack jobs and called them documentaries. He pretty much catered his career to satisfy only his unquestioning cheerleaders.

Mustaine did the same thing. Had a hot start - gained a cult following - faded out - now makes music for his cult following.

Face it, the only ones who like either one are the ones who already liked them.

and then try to make them look stupid simply by showing them saying something really stupid. Totally unfair to do that. You have a great future in the lint roller industry.

He has not been sued for slander. He said he has the best libel lawyers at The New Yorker magazine go through every bit of his books and movies, examining closely, to make sure that everything he says is factual, and that he cannot be sued.

You let MM film you, you sign a release, you can't go back and sue him because you looked like an idiot and said things that were stupid. It doesn't work that way.

Would you like to try again with that statement?????

He tells the truth and a lot of people just don't like it.

And Dave Mustaine is the greatest guitar player in the world. His fans go thru every lick and he plays them more perfectly than anybody else.

Moore takes facts and distorts them by presenting them in a way to support his views. It's like taking a picture of a guy with a rifle standing next to a dog that has been ran over and killed, and presenting it as "DOG KILLED!!!" Yes, it is a fact that the dog is dead and it is a fact that you didn't say the guy with the rifle killed it. But we sure as hell know what you want people to think.
Selective editing can make people look like whatever you want them to.

The point is that moore was a star, lost his shine and now plays only to a small group of dedicated unquestioning believers. Without those believers, he would be gone. He is a burnout.

but there are always plenty of non burnouts and current stars to step up in the liberal camp.

I'm really not totally behind the "I've got to admire the star's politics to enjoy their performance" bit, for me, it very much depends on the type of performer they are. For instance, I generally don't care what an actor's real life feelings are as long as they are in movies, plays or TV that I enjoy. For some other areas, it does make more difference--I wouldn't go to see Dennis Miller do standup, not because he may vote republican, but because I don't find right-wing humor funny. Likewise, if a musician writes and sings songs I like and can relate to, I really don't care what kind of person they are "in real life". However, if that musician writes overtly political or ideologically charged songs, then of course I take that into account.

But seriously, who cares when it comes to celebrities and political opinions?

I'm glad when someone I like turns out to be liberal, disappointed when someone turns out to be conservative....but let's be honest. They're celebrities. They don't have a direct impact on law and policy, so I typically just discount whatever they might say as it relates to politics in determining whether I'll see their movie, watch their show or buy their album.

Except for Donald Trump. Cause he's a douche. But he'd be a douche whether he's liberal or conservative.

But thank God he is a conservative.
