(602 posts)This is analagous to a serial killer resisting the knowing of a prospective victim's name to avoid humanizing the target and thus maintaining a minimum obstruction of empathy that would otherwise generate friction in the committing of acts known to be "wrong".

(17,021 posts)parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook but he did. That's what grown ups do. They do the hard stuff even when they don't "want" to. Because as difficult as it is to do they recognize it is infinitely harder for the person who experienced the loss. Damn I miss our President.
