Privately, aides say Trump fears visiting troops: "He's afraid... afraid people want to kill him."

Kyle Griffin @kylegriffin1 8m8 minutes ago
"He's never been interested in going," a former senior White House official said of Trump visiting troops in a combat zone, citing conversations with the president. "He's afraid of those situations. He's afraid people want to kill him." https://t.co/5ACv8CgCJL

President Trump has begun telling advisers that he may visit troops in a combat zone for the first time in his presidency, as he has come under increasing scrutiny for his treatment of military affairs and failure to visit service members deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq.

Trump has so far declined to visit those combat regions, saying he does not want to associate himself with wars he views as failures, according to current and former advisers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations. Current advisers said Trump is not expected to visit a war zone during the Thanksgiving break, which he will spend at his Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida...

In meetings about a potential visit, he has described the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as “a total shame,” according to the advisers. He also cited the long flights and potential security risks as reasons he has avoided combat-zone visits, they said...

Trump has spoken privately about his fears over risks to his own life, according to a former senior White House official, who has discussed the issue with the president and spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly about Trump’s concerns

“He’s never been interested in going,” the official said of Trump visiting troops in a combat zone, citing conversations with the president. “He’s afraid of those situations. He’s afraid people want to kill him.”

And that speaks volumes. Nobody can say that he is/was an ignorant, empty vessel the Republicans corrupted and manipulated, if he has mortal terror of his own troops as a consequence of his own actions, he has comprehensive awereness that he has done things WRONG, or straight up fucking EVIL, because I don't care what anybody says, he's no savant or otherwise mentally challenged individual, that man knows he has indulged the Darkside and like anyone with even half a brain, he's afraid of the inevitable payback.

to shut him up. He has passed his expiry date now.
He's a coward. Remember the tough guy campaign speeches about wanting to punch people out..? Tough guy...POSER.
There have been political icons that stood and delivered speeches knowing they could be hit right in the face w a bullet. Kennedy comes to mind. There'd been murmurings. Others as well, Bobby was always a target and gave brilliant speeches courageously. Martin Luther King especially knew a day or two ahead he was going to be taken a shot at, and he said the "We're all going to the mountaintop, I may not get there with you, but..." pretty sure those AREN'T the right words but the point is, I've seen him give that speech and he bravely persevered. If you're the president you GOD DAMN stand and deliver. You do it for every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine, but also for each of us individually (Each just as important as they, bc these folks have sworn to die for us. As citizens, Americans. Think about that.).
He is a total shameful disgrace. Illegitimate and grifting. Self dealing, russian sympathizer treating himself to the very finest, and insulting Americans daily on his rants.
Fake news my Ass. And bulletin for the peasants (that you KNOW isn't fake either..)...back to the fields and NO healthcare for you, and the roads are SO bad, we've decided to go back to dirt roads...more of that to come.

Tue Nov 20, 2018, 12:15 AM
Nov 2018

Obama had real reason to fear assassination-being the first African-American President. Trump should fear the military-he should fear assassination. He deals with people that kill first and ask questions later--and I don't mean the American military. He is very afraid of being poisoned to-and this fear did not start with his Presidency. He's a mobster-like most mobster-he fears being killed by his own kind.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/5967942/Barack-Obama-faces-30-death-threats-a-day-stretching-US-Secret-Service.html

Since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400 per cent from the 3,000 a year or so under President George W. Bush, according to Ronald Kessler, author of In the President's Secret Service.

I grew up in the 50s-60s. I doubted Obama would survive eight years in office. Pretty tough on Michelle.

But Barack showed up rain or shine in military cemeteries and in iraq & Afghanistan.

Morning Joe had a stat that 24% (159 of 600+ days) of Trump's time in office, he's been at a golf resort. I guess he's really safe from the rain there.
