Global warming in 3 simple graphs.

I gave a #climate talk & showed this graph of global temperature anomalies. Climate scientists see & discuss this graph literally all the time, but this audience said "wow, why don't I see that on the front page of newspapers? It's so convincing." Dear newspapers: over to you.

I don't doubt that climate change is occurring, but a 137 year graph based on averages from 1951-1980 (not even 30 years). Seems like a pretty small sample set.

Fine. Here is 2000 years.

And if you want 800,000 years of CO2 readings (which match the changes in temperature as well), here you go.

migrated from the Upper Midwest to the Desert south West since 2000,we are seeing this first hand. Again, that means we who are paying attention. Watched Rain Fall cut in half, watched new high Low Temps almost every month. New High Temps almost every month. And the real Kicker, the seasonal prevailing wind direction change.

We are in our fourth or fifth sustained weather pattern were upper atmospheric High Pressure dominates for three or more years at a time causing weather steering winds to change keeping moisture form coming ashore off the Pacific.

spend our Summer Season back in the Midwest. Got to feed those Hybrid Mosquitoes you know. Once you get your body acclimated to the heat and dryness, hey,it is doable. On those on those 120 degree days, you just back it down a few notches and stay hydrated.

If you have ever been bit by Frost, with every passing year your skin becomes less able to resist Frost Bite
. But ,with climate change moving faster than projected, and with water availability now a issue, the Midwest will be the new Retirement destination. And these factors are. being discussed in our Household.

Here is something most do not know. Water Rights, most states water rights are a shared idea, here in Nevada and Utah, you may not own the Water rights under your property and in that lies a monetary as well as a political issues. Water is a Commodity and until the local Taxing Districts price themselves out of Business, nothing will change.

Desalinization for Coastal Areas is viable in today's economy and will only become more viable as we go forward. Our issue is,why are we using water to grow Alfalfa in the friggin Desert. Well,China has acquired thousands of Acres of Irrigated land in Utah,Nevada,California, and Arizona as well as all of the Water Rights that go with this land,to grow Alfalfa to be put in Containers and Shipped back to China. BTW,have a acquaintance in South Central Utah who organized Alfalfa Growing Contract with a Japanese Kobe Beef and Dairy operator . Contract is for eight years for infinite tonnage with the Operator paying all expenses in handling this contract. We are talking tens of millions of dollars.

Common denominator is this, all the water needed for both examples comes from the Colorado-Green River Water Shed area.

And Arizona does not tax Social Security income.

Also, if your doctor says you need to live in a dry climate for health reasons, you only have a few choices.

Today, when I went to Google to find something, it had a story on a female (I think Russian) scientist who was talking about sunspots and the Maunder Minimum - of course, when I go to find it, it's not there.

The point is, when Google has a story like that - especially on the day when the NOAA is releasing the next report on the climate - it is crazy-making.
