from New Orleans.

As mayor, Landrieu successfully campaigned to get rid of the confederate statutes in the city.

He's almost Obamaesque as a speaker.

My brother was friends with Branford Marsalis (not kidding) but I wouldn't want my brother running for anything.
I don't mean to throw shade on this guy, maybe he's great. It's just that his sister really left me unimpressed. Not that she was a bad person but I never felt like there was a time where she'd lay her principles out there and put them ahead of political aspirations. It's naive to think any politician doesn't compromise here and there but I always wanted to see a little more from Mary that I saw recently in Beto O'Rourke-- take a stand and defend it eloquently to a constituency even though they're red-leaning.

...I definitely think he has a future at the federal level.

I think Brown would be a good choice for VP, except for the fact that we'd lose a Senator.

7. Little Story about Mitch and another guy named Ron Foreman

After hurricane katrina, many of the kids from New Orleans found themselves at the same school as my son (Episcopal HS in BR). Ron Foreman's son and my son became good friends. One day Ron came over to drop his son off and we talked and watched football for a hour or so. 30 minutes into this, a friend of Ron's knocks on our door and its Mitch. Mitch and Ron where good friends. They asked if I wanted to go out and have some beers with them but I end up declining.

Seems like a stand up guy... Someone to watch if he does not have any skeletons in the closet.

But everything I have heard or read says that he is clean and is a community type politician that solves problems. There are a couple people on DU that may live in the city that he led, maybe they can give insight.
