I for one, look forward to being in a minority.

It can't come soon enough. 63% of white males voted for a narcissistic idiot that any one with a clue could have told was a narcissistic idiot after watching him for three minutes. The sooner we are out of power the better for America, humanity and the world. I would love it if I could point to an image of Trump and say, "That is discriminatory. Showing images of such a buffoon is clearly trying to bias people against my race. Sadly, I cannot do that. 63% of my brothers voted for Trump.

The sad truth is that even after Trump is gone and the majority averts their eyes from the shame he caused, his voters will still be as easily manipulate and lied to. They will still vote with whoever inspires their greed, hate and anger. For the love of my county, my fellow man and my world, I look forward to being in an minority.

I'm a substitute teacher in several urban localities. From pre-school to eighth grade, I am constantly preparing these kids to be leaders, to persevere through mistakes, to not give up. I tell them that I would be pleased if in 20 years, any of them will be my boss.

My school is very diverse. Sometimes I see children of five or more races hanging out together without an issue in the world. This gives me hope since I live in one of the most conservative spots in the country.

I cannot figure out why people are bothered by this. The more diverse we are the more fun it is, the more interesting it is, the more we learn. We are better and stronger with diversity and frankly, if I had to live in a white only society it would drive me nuts. All of this is aside from your topic about voting, that too!

It seems it should be so easy. I do not understand why it is not. I do have a really good feeling that we are making progress but not seeing it as much right now, only hearing the bad. I like to hope that.

GOP.

I wonder if people who don’t know me look at me and assume I voted for the GOP because of how I look or where I live. I am ashamed of those who live in a post-fact world and continue to vote for the Republicans. Climate deniers are attracted to the GOP. White nationalists are attracted to the GOP. Those who see immigration as a threat to some sort of “American way of life” are attracted to the GOP. People who don’t support a person’s right to health care are attracted to the GOP.

For the life of me I don’t get it.

9. I work with a lot of conservatives.
Thu Nov 22, 2018, 08:44 PM

A lot of them are compassionate and thoughtful people. They do have a difference from liberals though. If I say to a liberal that twenty people died of some event in some other country, it may take a moment, but the thought of it then hits them like a brick.

When I say to a conservative that a hundred people died of some event in some other country, I may get a face that sort of show compassion for a moment, but in the end it comes out that at least it wasn't one of our people.

Conservatives can turn off their compassion like it has a knob. Liberals have a bit more trouble getting past their compassion. I wonder if that knob some how relates to their ability to be so easily fooled by evil idiots.

"Compassion" stems from identifying with the target of the emotion.''

"Pity," in contrast, corresponds to the distancing of the self against the target of the emotion.''

A person practicing "compassion" follows the golden rule: she treats you as she would like to be treated by others if she were in your situation. A person practicing pity look for examples of failure in you (which may or may not exist) to feel better about themselves.

Compassion embraces, and pity rejects. That's the difference.

After we get mixed up together we will probably be able to easily see the traits caused by Y chromosomes. It is sadly still possible that my people will be causing issues even after race is a thing of the past.

It may seem larger because most of us with a clue are scared to speak up since those without a clue are likely to follow you home in their rolling coal equipped ram truck, steal your Beto sign, and call 911 to have you swatted. They really want to provoke you and then shoot you in cold blood so they can claim it was standing their ground, but their parole agreement forbids them from carrying a gun.

I’m glad my dad and uncles that fought the Nazis and imperial Japan did not live to see the fascists come to power in the USA.

One of my greatest hopes is that those 63%’s lessons in life didn’t rub off on their male children. Most of us may never see the day that there is basically one color on this planet due to interracial relationships.
