I wonder if people who don’t know me look at me and assume I voted for the GOP because of how I look or where I live. Those who see immigration as a threat to some sort of “American way of life” are attracted to the GOP. People who don’t support a person’s right to health care are attracted to the GOP.

A lot of them are compassionate and thoughtful people. They do have a difference from liberals though. If I say to a liberal that twenty people died of some event in some other country, it may take a moment, but the thought of it then hits them like a brick.

When I say to a conservative that a hundred people died of some event in some other country, I may get a face that sort of show compassion for a moment, but in the end it comes out that at least it wasn't one of our people.

Conservatives can turn off their compassion like it has a knob. Liberals have a bit more trouble getting past their compassion. I wonder if that knob some how relates to their ability to be so easily fooled by evil idiots.
