What if the next time we get a Donald Trump in this country, it will be someone who can read

My greatest fear is that the next time we get a Donald Trump in this country, it will be someone who can read. Which is why we must do the work of healing our diseased body politic, not just Band-Aiding the festering boil that is Trump.

who could serve two happy terms, and then the shit hits the fan after he leaves. Trump was just too obvious.

Maybe not the world's best actor, but President isn't really that difficult a role to play if you give it some effort. And that's basically what Reagan did as a politician; he delivered lines written by the people who were paying for him to be there, with feeling.

Trump can't do that because he's not an actor, he's just a grifter and outside of the cheap schmooze he doesn't have an act.

is to force the media to stop repeating right-wing talking point without pointing out the real facts and the truth. How to do that I don't know unless we start buying stock in them until we own 51%

Some say boycotts don't work but I've seen some cases where big corps don't want the negative publicity.

They thought Trump could be contained and pointed in the "right" direction. Now that they have seen their experiment fail, I think they want someone more like Reagan or Bush II--someone they can manipulate that will do what they want 99% of the time, and not go off on his own unpredictable tangents 50% of the time. In 2020, I see Pence as the greater danger. For now, anyway. Two years is an eon in politics.

And if he's not punished with the harshest penalties , the next one will be a lot worse for this country than we can recover from. If all these corrupt criminals escape justice we'll never recover from it. We need Mueller to become the next AG to clean house in 2020, when all is under Democrat control, and to help with all the prosecutions.

That is what will stop the next literate-Trump: Knowledge that while high office grants great power, you also hold it in the glare of an arc lamp that makes all your transgressions visible. Trump's cult of personality has saved him so far but I think it's wearing thin, and the teflon may wear off before 2020. I have personally noticed that people who were enthused and jubilant about his election have been quiet of late. At the rate we are going that public hanging Cindy Hyde-Smith gets invited to might very well be Trump's.

And that is why impeachment is not a good idea, I find Pence more dangerous than the man-child, he can fool a lot of people into thinking he is normal, he knows how to hide his evil plans very well. I wonder if he tints his hair white just to look more "angelical"
