IMHO: Corsi and Manafort are refusing to finger 45 on taking Russian oppo data: Hence, jail.

I'm saying that if Mueller had evidence that both of them knew of 45's involvement in russian election hacking, and refused to finger 45, this is exactly how it would look to us from the outside.

But I'm no legal/prosecution/election tampering expert, so there might be less malignant reasons why both are talking jail tonight, just as the dems reclaimed the house and subpoena power.

It all adds up.

investigations have revealed, eh? This guy doesn't pull punches and certainly doesn't waste time in going after those who don't live up to their plea agreements etc.

Having said that, I can see Corsi taking a stand because he's not going to go to prison for a long time for perjury. It might be financially beneficial for him to stand up to Mueller and then sell his books or raise money from Trump's deadheads.

Manafort is harder to figure. He spends a bunch of time spilling the beans after very convincing cases were brought against him. And then he lies ?? It was prohibitive because many of the things Manafort was charged with could be charged at the State level.

However, since his plea deal, Kavanaugh was jammed onto the Supreme Court.

On Dec 5th, oral arguments are being heard in Gamble v USA to determine if Double Jeopardy should wipe out the ability of state charges to be filed if federal charges are dealt with
http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/gamble-v-united-states/

It may be that Trump has leaked to Manafort & Corsi that they're going to win that case with Kavanaugh's decision and Trump will pardon them. Which would render a Special Prosecutor ever trying to investigate the president as an almost impossible task because the President could just pardon everyone in sight.

If that is what is happening, it could get violent from the outrage.

Mueller knowing intimate detail of trump-Russia conspiracy and Corsi and Manafort lying about it makes perfect sense to me. But, do I have confirmation bias? Very difficult to be objective about this.

It could be that Mueller held off on this news because as long as Trump thought that Manafort was cooperating, Trump might have answered truthfully.

I guess we'll find out!
