MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos explained how special counsel Robert Mueller will use Paul Manaforts alleged lies to sneak past President Donald Trumps claims of executive privilege.
The special counsels office alleged Monday in a court filing that Manafort violated his plea agreement by lying to investigators, and Mueller will present his evidence to a judge in a public hearing.
Courts are different than the Mueller teams mandate for secrecy, Cevallos told Morning Joe. Anything thats filed in court, unless its filed under seal, and theres a presumption against filing things under seal in federal court, will be publicly available.
Trumps attorney Rudy Giuliani has signaled that the White House will claim executive privilege to prevent Muellers final report from public release, but Cevallos said the special counsel could reveal some of his strongest evidence at Manaforts sentencing.

(13,424 posts)1. Frankly, a dead pigeon could outsmart those two. A live human should have problems doing that.

(11,885 posts)2. And I'd bet there's a long line of places that'll get the full story
Within hours if he fires Mueller, and will fully exposed them all for all their crimes. If trump tries to pardon t'll backfire on them for pardoning a known co-conspirator with him, and make the cases even stronger against them.

Tampering.
