I don't approve of torture. I don't believe the ends justify the means.

(11,949 posts)And might agree here. But if someone is in jail, not prison, denyed bail as a flight risk is then caught violating communication rules, Pre-trial, well, I still might agree with you. But need more information before I conclude totally.
Does solitary in jail equal that in prison? What was she trying to communicate? Are they worried about an attempt to silence her, ie Whitey Bulger?
But I do normally think solitary, like the death penalty, is a human rights violation. Cant help it, Im a liberal!
