I don't want to hear "She sucks!" or "She's awesome!" I don't care, really. I'd rather think neither one sucks and they're both awesome -- but even that's not my point.
Why are we arguing? Why the acrimony? Isn't there some other way to talk to our fellow DU'ers without it coming to that?
We should be valuing each other. We need each other. You're the only 1 of you I'll ever get a chance to meet.

I must say that I am given to mistrust anyone who works or worked in the higher reaches of the financial rackets, for what I think are perfectly understandable reasons, but I am perfectly content to evaluate both, or anyone else for that matter, on their own merits.
It is not "bashing" to point out that Ms. Clinton had extraordinary advantages in life which most of us can't even begin to comprehend having. Hell's bells, I graduated with all of the highest honors possible from my excellent state university and went on to receive an Ivy League law degree with a B+ average. So I dare say I am probably as smart as Chelsea Clinton. The difference is that I am from a working class background with no connections to anything and have been working mostly subsistence level jobs for the last 25 years. Academic excellence no longer guarantees thing one any more. Connections make all the difference. So let's not bust our backs genuflecting at Chelsea.
I wish her well, and Bill and Hillary have every reason in the world to be very proud of their daughter. But she didn't get where she is and will be by herself.

And remember, the winner must be deemed 'worthy.' Else the conversation might turn to 'Why Are There Privileged Ruling Class people anyway?'

(32,096 posts)I keep hearing that Chelsea is running for the Senate, yet I never heard her say any such thing. Now, she's running against Amy Carter?
There are so many other important battles that need to be fought, rather than these idiotic Strawman Wars.
