Erik Wemple reports that Mitt Romneys campaign is reaching out to NBC about a remark made by MSNBC host/cultural critic Touré on The Cycle.
Touré had this to say Thursday about Romneys attacks on Obama:
I dont say it lightly, but this is Niggerization. You are not one of us. You are like the scary black man weve been trained to fear.

toure is right: what other reason could romney have for framing the President as "angry" and hateful? I can't think of another politician who LESS projects anger than the President.

(30,677 posts)we should never stand up and point out their crimes, their lies, their atrocities. We must never defend ourselves against their strict punishing father attacks. We should just never mention it when we are abused, and we should allow them to abuse us and the voters with false talk, demonizing the other side as much as they want.
That is what the repubs call bipartisanship.
Anything other than meek acceptance of their punishment is being a traitor.
Oh, and to the repubs the president is an angry black male? Stereotype much?

Basically, that it he Romney campaign in a nutshell. At SOME point the media is going to tire of constantly getting these whiney-ass calls from them. and the fake outrage. I'm just embarrassed for those people. What a fucked up campaign.

(131,197 posts)THEY are so 'angry and hateful,' its ALL they do, and throw it back at Dems.
Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.[1]
Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted unconscious impulses or desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them.
An example of this behavior might be blaming another for self failure. The mind may avoid the discomfort of consciously admitting personal faults by keeping those feelings unconscious

(383 posts)Toure just got "niggerized" by the Romney campaign as a tactic. The Romney will make hay of this....
Toure WAS right, but the apology ruined what he (Toure) originally said.
Maybe Toure should be afraid of post-blackness.....

(46 posts)I just had a conversation with a fellow Dem on twitter. He said it was a good thing Toure apologized since "a majority of Americans find the term offensive."
It's extremely disheartening to me that any Dem would say this. Toure spoke the truth, why not call the racists out? I'm tired and I feel disrespected by the GOP. I've felt like this since POTUS started running for office.
Watermelons on the WH lawn, Moochelle, FLOTUS' rear end a regular subject of conversation, the 1st family described as monkeys, the birth certificate, school records, Obama as Hitler, Obama as a witch doctor. I could go on.
Toure said "niggerization." Big fucking deal! And yet, the Romney campaign is basically calling POTUS an angry black man and hateful?
