Paul Ryan Claims He Didn’t Know He Signed Letters Asking For Stimulus Funds

During an interview with Fox News’ Carl Cameron on Saturday, Paul Ryan tried to explain why he denied requesting stimulus funds for a local energy company in 2009 after voting against and demagoguing the Recovery Act. “My office sends tens of thousands of letters to various federal agencies. This went through what we call my case work system, where it was treated as a case work request for a constituent,” Ryan said. “It wasn’t my intention to send letters supporting the stimulus”:

...

But the letters — at least five in total — are all signed by Ryan in different ways, suggesting that he or an aide hand-signed the documents. “Recovery Act” is also prominently written in the very first line:

What a liar!

Paul Ryan is not the only Republican who publicly trashed the Stimulus as being bad for the economy but went back to their districts and begged for the money and said how good the stimulus would be for the economy. Republican double speak.

I also found it on youtube slightly shorter in length

Fits in well with Rmoney signing tax returns that he doesn't know anything about. Its his blind trust, tax attorneys, accountants fault if anything is amiss (like residency). You know - "the staff".

when their excuses for anything they don't want to be accountable for are regular statements of shockingly careless, inadequate, and derelict stewardship of their state offices or personal affairs.

Though I don't think they have invented the word yet that accurately conveys the dissonance around this level of hubris that also accounts for the level of sheer stupidity that falls for it.

any candidate who would blindly sign something with running the country? That's his excuse? That hurts him worse than just being honest IMO, it looks like he doesn't pay enough attention to detail to be trusted to run the country.

very intelligent. So, is he claiming he is too stupid to be VP or that he could unknowingly sign away the country because of bad business practices on his part?

Not only that he wanted green things with the stimulus money and Republican voters don't like green things.

Can't play it both ways, Mr. Ryan

Let's send tax return disclosure letters to Romney, put them in with a bunch of Thank You letters to the millionaire backers and XMAS cards...get him to sign them, and voilla...we'll have his tax returns.

You'd have to be a frickin' masochist to work as a Repuke staffer. Not only do you get thrown under the bus, but the back wheels run over you and you get a blast of diesel from the exhaust.

I would like my President to not "accidentally" sign a mission order to send Seals into Pakistan, and then claim that a "staffer" must of just got him to sign it.

Who the fuck was Ryan's staffer? Radar O'Reily?

If not, there's still time. I'm sure the federal government would accept a refund and his conservative constituents wouldn't mind.
