1. Not only federal workers, people who work for companies with federal contracts

lots of construction and maintenance workers are locked out of their job sites because of the shutdown, and they aren't getting paid either (and unlike federal workers there is no prospect of Congress granting backpay for the days they could not work).

2. You posted the real thruth as to what is happening in real time.

The number 800k is so miss leading. Depending on funding sources,this shut down has hit well over a million people. Probably closer to 2+million. Especially projects that are not front loaded.

Here is something about the National Parks and other Federal run Historic Sites. A few years ago,under Rethugs,the Park Service Privatized the Trash and Clean up work at several Parks. My Brother and I bid on a couple Federal Facilities in his area,well those contracts went to a Freind of the Congress Person from that area only to be subbed out to someone else.

You get what you pay for.
