Remember how Jerome Corsi filed a civil lawsuit against Robert Mueller?

Remember how Jerome Corsi filed a civil lawsuit against Robert Mueller, claiming various violations of his rights? A judge today denied Corsi's bid to have the case assigned to the same judge who ruled against the NSA bulk surveillance program a few years ago, Judge Richard Leon.

Corsi is represented by Larry Klayman, who argued the NSA case before Leon. Normally cases are randomly assigned, unless they're related to another case. Klayman today argued the cases were related, since Corsi claims he's been illegally surveiled by the special counsel's office.

But "related" has specific meanings under the court rules. For cases that have been dismissed at the district court level, as Klayman's NSA cases were (he's on appeal), Corsi's case would need to involve the same parties and subject to be "related".

Reading his decision from the bench, Leon said that under these rules, Corsi's case was definitely not related to Klayman's case -- Corsi and Mueller weren't parties to the NSA cases. This means Corsi's case will go on the wheel for random assignment to a judge.

Klayman had effusive praise for Leon during the hearing while he was arguing, but the feeling was not mutual. Leon concluded by speculating whether he'd need to recuse if he kept the case because Klayman previously had claimed Leon was co-opted by the "so-called deep state".

Outside court, Corsi called today a victory (even though they lost). He and Klayman said that Corsi rejected a plea deal from Mueller's office for lying because the alleged lie was about testimony Mueller's office allowed him to amend.

Corsi hasn't a clue as to what is coming next. He may be seeing the walls of a Prison cell before the year is out.
