The Wall was born because trump couldn't remember to talk about immigration at campaign rallies?

WASHINGTON — Before it became the chief sticking point in a government shutdown drama that threatens to consume his presidency at a critical moment, President Trump’s promise to build a wall on the southwestern border was a memory trick for an undisciplined candidate.

As Mr. Trump began exploring a presidential run in 2014, his political advisers landed on the idea of a border wall as a mnemonic device of sorts, a way to make sure their candidate — who hated reading from a script but loved boasting about himself and his talents as a builder — would remember to talk about getting tough on immigration, which was to be a signature issue in his nascent campaign.

“How do we get him to continue to talk about immigration?” Sam Nunberg, one of Mr. Trump’s early political advisers, recalled telling Roger J. Stone Jr., another adviser. “We’re going to get him to talk about he’s going to build a wall.”

Glad to see it up and getting traction again. Run a DU search for wall mnemonic and it should come up.

And americans are even more gullible than you think they are. THe tea party was also a Koch brothers one-time local rally gimmick that took over much of the house and some of the senate.

They were also able to whip their members into a frenzy about government spending and healthcare reform.

can't even remember this as an issue...among other critical issues. Obviously his mind is trapped in some sort of limbo land because he can't seem to get this out of his head and it keeps looping back around to the 'wall'. Of course he's proved numerous times of his incompetence and he's doing it now, by bringing this 'wall' up all of the time. I guess he can't think of anything else to say...

8. Even though they knew it was STUPID, to the base hearing the wall was like GOLD!

Even they underestimated how stupid the base is and unwittingly started telling them exactly what they wanted to hear. 3rd grade logic and now he has to fucking build it even though they know it won't work because they are holding him to it. This entire situation is so absurd it's mind boggling.
