If there was anyone with a smidgen of intelligence they would not allow trump to give a live statement...... They would convince him to make the statement pre-recorded. Looking at trump's most recent incoherent ramblings, there's no way he can stay on topic. Good for us.

(10,252 posts)I may watch, just to see him make a complete fool of himself. By tonight, he will have completely erased from his mind, any memory of saying he would take responsibility for the shutdown. That bit will not be mentioned.
And oh, he will call the Dem "obstructionist" and say we support open borders.

(12,904 posts)I will miss the meltdown.
But, I really, really dont want to watch.

(12,051 posts)My blood pressure can't handle that moron, so I don't watch him. However, if he melts down, I'll watch that on a video loop the next day!

(51,198 posts)Hard to argue trump is pulling numbers and facts outta his butt if he's just reading a script. Solidifies the fact that it's the administration pushing the lies and not just trump being trump if it's written down.

(52,326 posts)he gets his crap on unfiltered. he gets to give red meat for his base and he won't be heavily fact-checked, at least not immediately. everyone knows there will be a long list of lies tomorrow, but it won't change any minds.
if there's a pre-recorded speech, then the networks will review it before it first and quite possible change the lead-in, cut it short, or immediately follow with fact-checks and better analysis.
no, donnie's better off catching the media asleep at the switch, like usual.
