Renew Deal

Let's assume there is a negotiation. What is Trump offering the Democrats?

Lets just play along and say that this is a negotiation. What exactly is he offering Democrats? A steel wall vs a concrete wall? BS. That's no offer. Is he offering DACA? Is he offering environmental protections? Is he offering closing border detention centers? What exactly is he offering? It sounds like he wants the wall and wants to give nothing. And even if says he will do something in a meeting, can he be trusted to follow through? Of course not. And that's the problem (besides the reality that there will never be a wall). He wants everything, wants to give nothing.

But he'd reject that.

Wasn't he going to get his $25 billion a while back if he signed off on Dreamers, but rejected it after a conversation with Stephen Miller?

Plus, we agree that any funds sent by Mexico to pay for the wall, be directed to wall spending only.

That should get them maybe $30 million or so.

To be clear, he's not letting them go though...gotta keep those hostages around to threaten to shoot the next time he wants something.

Since the threat before was "do as I say or I'll shut down the government, see if I don't!", now that it's actually shut down and people are being actively harmed by it, the analogy would be that he's shooting hostages once every couple of minutes and saying he won't stop until he gets what he wants.
