Meghan McCain suggests that Democrats do not care about border security - and smear people who do

The View’s Meghan McCain got shut down repeatedly on Wednesday, after she went off on an unhinged rant in which she suggested Democrats not only don’t care about border security, but were “smearing” people who do.

“I see people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doing her own rebuttal, which by the way was far more concise than Chuck and Nancy on Rachel Maddow last night, and she was basically demonizing border agents and I.C.E.,” McCain said. “The problem is whether liberals like it or not, border security is a big issue for Americans. It’s one of the reasons why Trump got elected.”

“I don’t think anyone has any problem with the border security, I don’t think that’s the issue,” Whoopi Goldberg replied, as McCain talked over her. “It is the wall that I think the Democrats are screaming about.”

“It’s now become one of the trends on the far left that is coming towards the middle,” McCain insisted, and made a snippy remark when Sunny Hostin disagreed.

Joy Behar brought up President Trump’s zero tolerance policy, which had led to thousands of migrant children being separated from their parents. But McCain tried to place the blame for the policy on President Barack Obama.

“Separating children was not under Obama, he didn’t separate families,” interrupted both Behar and Hostin.

What I’m trying to tell you is if Democrats want to win in 2020, don’t demonize people that want harder border security,

Any GOPer flacking for this border wall idiocy should be asked whether the the nine members of Congress whose districts are actually ON the US-Mexico border, including Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas, the only Republican among the group, are "serious about border security."

Ms. McCain's father was in the GOP-controlled Senate for almost two years of the Trump Administration; apparently he didn't think this particular hill was one to die on, did he?

But even the Senator didn't think this wall nonsense was worth considering when the GOP controlled both houses of Congress.

as a focus for Trump to spew his racist hatred of Hispanics knowing the Old White People would fall all over this crap.

McCain knew it and did not say boo until after Trump was elected. McCain did not want to piss off the Doucey Tea Bag Crowd until later.

noble for Whoopi and the producers of the show to try so hard. But Meghan is truly beyond salvage. This show confirmed my worst suspicion: we can no longer pretend we can have a decent dialog with people like McCain, who finally lose patience and snap out the stuff that has been drilled into her since she was little.

I really wouldn't blame the other women on the show if they were also disgusted and ready to just lose Meghan. Many dems have been kind to her during her grief. Joe Biden went on the show to comfort her. Many people stroked her and comforted her.

She is beyond repair. The repubes have brainwashed her and left her out to dry on the air amd in full view. She needs to get some therapy and then maybe, just maybe, she can come back on "The View" and join the other women on that show that have only shown her the greatest kindness.

This makes me very upset and angry.

They get very agitated when presented with opposing arguments and go positively apoplectic when facts are used to back those arguments.

If Ms. McCain were named McCurdy instead, she wouldn’t have lasted a week as a talk show round table member in Biloxi, Broken Arrow or Butte.

Tune in The View and there's McCain. Tune in Today and there's Jenna Bush. At least Bush stays away from the political pontificating, but what are her credentials? Tens of thousands of smart college educated women seeking a career in the broadcast world lack the connections that could help them land one of these cushy jobs. Instead, many seek out work in other fields and a lucky few find an entry level gig at a small station in a remote corner of the country and hope somebody with hiring authority in a bigger market notices them. An accident of birth should not give a chosen few an elevator ride to the top while many who are more talented and more deserving struggle at the bottom. Not what you know, but who you know. Truer words..
