The real national emergency: Gun deaths

Pelosi and Schumer need to take a page from the Trump playbook and divert attention away from the wall. They should start hitting him with gun control. The number of deaths from gun violence far outweigh the number of deaths caused by illegal immigrants. Start contrasting the two when speaking about the wall and highlighting that gun-related deaths constitute a much great threat to Americans and could be addressed at a lower cost than his wall.

Also, if most deaths caused by illegal aliens result from shootings, it would be another be a strong argument.

Rather than making Trump continue to defend his wall, make him defend the Republicans inaction on gun violence.

...I think the gun death issue is easier for the average American to comprehend because there are relative solid numbers and people can imagine what a gun does to someone because it is played out daily in the news and TV series.

It is harder for people to deny that guns kill people versus the reality of a more esoteric subject (for some) like climate change (which, unfortunately, is an existential threat to the planet rather than a national issue).
