For a lot of us here, this news isn't particularly shocking. We've been following the stories, the theories, the strange and stranger coincidences. But for a large swath of the American public? Even an insinuation that Donald Trump--the man squatting in the White House--has been under a counterintelligence investigation? This news will rattle a lot of cages. Tucker Carlson is already out there claiming this is FBI payback for the criticism they've been under. I fully expect a series of rage tweets tomorrow morning.
But this is only the beginning. I suspect the 'news' will deliberately be released in a slow but ever mounting flow to give the electorate a chance to absorb the real gravity of the situation. Because to consider that the so-called POTUS is an agent of a foreign adversary is a pretty gargantuan leap, unless you've been following the news, the documents, the legal testimony, the connections, the hinky deals, the money, the contradictions, etc.
Not everyone has been doing that.
As for the right-wing reaction? They'll fight it to the bitter end, until the evidence is so overwhelming that even their smarmy voices are drowned out.
It's going to get really, really ugly. But this is the beginning of the end for Trumpski and his treasonous crew
