Government Shutdown: Cui Bono?

Who benefits? Well, let's look at that from Trump's perspective. He's a real estate guy by profession. So, let's say all those furloughed government workers can't make their mortgages. After a few months of the shutdown, the banks might decide to foreclose and put those distressed properties up for auction.

While The Donald, of course, isn't in the business right now, his kids are. Just saying...

What else, you wonder? Well, as President, Donald Trump would like to shut down pesky government agencies like, say, the FBI, which seems to be looking into his nefarious ways. After a time, some of those unpaid FBI folks might just look for other jobs. Ex-FBI agents are no-brainer hires for law enforcement agencies. They have the best training and work habits. An FBI that is way, way understaffed might look pretty good to Donald Trump right about now.

And then there's that troublesome FEMA. It's part of Homeland Security, which is shut down, too. The TSA, too. Shedding a bunch of those employees would free up tons of money Trump could pump into contractors' wallets during the Great Wall Project. Later, they could kick back a nice percentage of the grift to Trump, once he's no longer in office.

There's more, of course, but you get the idea.

Cui Bono? Trump Bono!

This was done by design to prevent anyone from defunding his investigation. So the shutdown just means that Mueller's office is the best place to work now.
