He's simply one of the sad sacks, along with the execrable Laura Poitras and Jeremy Scahil, who were picked as useful idiots.

I've been trying for years to point out that this is high-end ratfucking by Pierre Omidyar, looneytarian with an $11.4 billion net worth and vested interest in pocketing small change by fostering liberal animus. That this publication and its contributors have been hailed by neo-progressives is absolutely emblematic of how 21st century "leftism" became so toxic so quickly.
