(1,685 posts)There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels
upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!

(42,724 posts)Our protests were instrumental in turning the tide and in building support for the Congressional efforts to cut off funding.. But the point of my post wasn't that we didn't have an impact. It was that we never seriously attempted to shut down everything. Even during the "moratorium" protests. And while those protests had a significant effect, they did not result in an immediate end to the war.

(9,426 posts)The gop comes clean about all the Russian money they collected, give it to a charity or the unemployed government workers. We all know about it anyway, no secrets there. That way, they will be freed up to do what they were elected to do, THE RIGHT THING. Rein in this orange ass Russian asset.

(9,426 posts)Even thinking of any gop member returning money is laughable. I just think that a true representative, who seriously loves their country, would do the right thing. Is Russia more important to them than their own country? Could fear of being voted out of office scare them? How about they are more afraid of tRump and his good buddy Putin than they are of any voters? I see McConnell's brother in law (married to his wife's sister) is in line for a job he is totally unqualified for, too. The gop really believes in on the job training, don't they? Even for a president. The experiment with tRump really should have cured them of THAT notion. He has learned nothing since he took office. NOT A THING.

(269,111 posts)that lyin' Ryan told then to keep it secret when McCarthy told them Putin pays the Con, I knew they were and are part of this collusion/conspiracy/treason or even peaches as the Con suggests for the wall. Way more folks should end up in prison over this mess.

(9,426 posts)told McCarthy to "keep it in the family" So, party over country is how the gop rolls. I would like to see Ryan brought back to DC to face charges. He is guilty, too. He tried for years to destroy the safety nets for working class people.

(50,299 posts)They apparently can hack our electrical grids and government. The night before last when the NYT treason story broke our Directv signal started to break up just on MSNBC and CNN. Every other channel was fine. It lasted for quite some time so we couldn't get the full story until the next day. For all I know it was spider's mating in the satellite dish, but I'm getting downright paranoid about what's happening in this country. Is it time to learn Russian??

(14,971 posts)I said every air traffic controller and TSA agent needs to stay home until Trump re-opens government. Start it on a Thursday when Congresspeople are trying to get out of town before the weekend. Itd shut down all the airports and may make Rs think twice before they try another shutdown. The agent said most employees are afraid of being fired, which I can understand but if they all do it I dont think theyd get fired, would they ?
