Gillibrand to visit 'The Late Show' amid reported 2020 plans

The Hill:

Another potential 2020 White House contender is headed to late-night TV — Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) will appear on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday.

Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is the other guest booked for the show, the network announced Monday.

Gillibrand, 52, is expected to “take steps toward launching a presidential campaign in the coming days by forming an exploratory committee,” the Associated Press reported on Monday.

Colbert’s late-night show has served as a parade of sorts for possible 2020 candidates.

This is not her time. For me there will never be a time. But this one is not her time.

To ask some questions during the attorney general confirmation hearing. Like the ones that forced Sessions to recuse himself from the Mueller probe.

Whatever. Unless she somehow edges out the other contenders as our party’s candidate for President in the Democratic Party primaries, I don’t plan to support her.

I am on the opposite coast so my impression of how she lands with the public is based on the likes of Democratic Underground and Daily Kos.

electoral excitement goes. I really like her hardass approach to dealing with sexual harassment and violence in the military, government, business, academia, school.

so I'm looking forward to seeing what she has to say and how she is received. I have generally found Colbert to be a very good interviewer not attacking or fawning and the show is taped in NYC.

I actually think that Cobert talks a little too much and sometimes cut off answers.
