(24,783 posts)I got weird calls from him in 2016. Sounded like he was in an echo chamber. I'm sure it was part of his propaganda campaign.
It did occur to me....

(71 posts)Well, you also make them pay for a call to their toll free number. Its free to call but they get charged.

(42,862 posts)It's different with today's prepaid VOIP technology. Yes, a fee has been paid... but it's unlikely to be a per-call-received fee like in the days of copper wire and mechanical switch-houses.
HOWEVER... scammy groups and organizations DO PAY PER PIECE for the postage paid "Business Reply Envelopes" that are returned empty, without any donations. So I am happy to continue to do that.

(34,139 posts)I told that that every time they called I would donate MORE money to a Democratic candidate.
I'd called the office of a tea party representative to complain about his first vote in Congress. Shortly after I started getting calls from the GOP asking for money - I had never had a single call from the GOP prior to that. So I not only told the GOP fundraisers about my intention to increase Democratic contributions, I also called my GOP rep. and told his office staff about it. It took about a week and I have not received one GOP call since.

(34,485 posts)they'll probably just tally the total number of people calling, ignore all of the people pressing "2" then lie about the results, claiming "overwhelming support" for his stupid wall. I don't trust them as far as I can throw Individual #1 Tower.
Or maybe I'm just too cynical for my own good.
