It boils down to that. If this story he accurate, he's a fucking hero. If not, I think his career is over.

He seems to have gotten over his past troubles and has done some great reporting since then, so I'm not worried about the veracity of last night's bombshell, but it would be kind of irresponsible of a news agency like CNN to deliberately sweep this information about his past under the rug just because they like his current findings. He seems to have owned up to his mistakes and as a journalist might even feel the same way.
