Here's the thing - the GOP, especially the males, are a bunch of ignorant neanderthals

And the women are no better -- especially if they vote for macho idiots like them.

Rep. Akin thinks a woman can't get pregnant if she is raped. Her uterus or some other female naughty part goes into instant Wonder Woman mode, and tracks down and zaps the rapists sperm into oblivion.

Rush Limbaugh believed that women took birth control pills by the handful each and every time she got into an amorous mood.

Folks, where are these people coming from? Where do they get this shit? Do they not have mothers? Sisters? Aunts? Wives? Any females they can talk to? Any woman ANYWHERE who can clear these matters up for them?

No wonder these people hate science.

Why doesn't anyone question the name they've been given, Dittoheads? It's an insult and it's willful ignorance and bullying masquerading as strength. They pick on those with less power than themselves, no matter how they got it.

It takes NO courage to join forces with the rich and powerful to serve them. It DOES take courage to resist.

The GOP are craven cowards looking to find someone to look down on. But you really can't get any lower than being a fawning lapdog.

her response "he named obamacare after himself" I kid you not ...

I of course gave her the facts like the bills actual name and who first used the term obamacare.
she responded "I didn't post to debate just to voice my opinnion have a great weekend"

So I wish her well and went on with my day .

We're 5 billion lemmings, the few idiot "elite" leading them off the cliff after they kill the rest of us who aren't in the pack.

did they never get upset with Republican presidents cosying up to the likes of the late, unlamented Reverend Jerry Falwell, who once famously said that America deserved what happened to us on 9/11. That we'd been damned because we'd allowed abortion, the removal of school prayers, tolerance of gays and other such religious right bugabears into society. Bin Laden was doing gawd's work! She's in her 70 and a retired teacher. She, and she says most in her gardening club, are sickened by this crap.

I know Perry sent her across party lines to vote for the other side. Her husband didn't, but at least she did. I don't know what effect Ryan's relationship to Akins will have on her, but I'm betting it won't be good.

They've become too extreme for more than a couple old time party members. Maybe in time the Tea Baggers will force them to have to actually restructure their party?

Are in congress. It's easier to sell this lunacy to a district. It's harder, but still feasible to sell it to a state, if they tailor the message a bit. On a national level, it does not work. Teabaggers are just too unpopular, even among Republicans.

The GOP has painted themselves into a corner by feeding these fringe until they took on a life of their own. I don't know how they plan on repairing the damage they've done to their party. I don't see any easy fixes to be honest.

They're well and truly screwed.

Is that women only get pregnant by consent. This way it is "always her fault", and she should "bear the consequences".

They attempt to rationalize the brutality of their intended decisions by in some manner dehumanizing the victim.

29. Outrageous Sexism AND Stupidity
Mon Aug 20, 2012, 10:12 PM
Aug 2012

From Slate:

The sexism is outrageous, but it’s the stupidity that really burns. It takes a lot of work for a member of the House science committee to cultivate an ignorance of science as profound as Todd Akin’s. It’s not accidental and it’s not incidental to his worldview—his belief system requires a rejection of science.

The thing about science, as Neil DeGrasse-Tyson says, is that it’s true whether you believe it or not. And the truth is that biology does not give a goddamn how sperm meets egg, whether it’s within the bounds of a sanctified marriage, in a test tube, or after a rape.
