He is in. Says he is staying in.

(28,158 posts)Holding out for a sizable offer before he steps down. If he doesn't get his way, he stays in and they're all going to take a beating.
What does he have to lose by staying in? Nothing the only loser are the rest of the party.

(28,158 posts)While we all have to pay for their obstructions in congress, the Republicans are the only ones suffering their political backlash. Which is fair since they're a monster the Republicans created.

(4,359 posts)I really enjoy some of your posts. :0)

(28,158 posts)Honestly.
I'm just a stream of consciousness poster here.
If anything, DU deserves the credit for raising my awareness. I doubt most of my realizations, or hypothesis, would happen if not for our amazing group of posters here.
DonRedwood
(4,359 posts)and the amazing websites I had never heard of. Everytime I click on a link I always check out the other stories. One DU post can lead me to read four or five articles or blogs. For me DU is the snowball rolling downhill. Once it gets me reading my knowledge keeps getting bigger and bigger....

(17,064 posts)Hes toast. He knows hes toast. But he has the GOP by the 'nads. Maybe he is holding out for a buy-out.
DonRedwood
(4,359 posts)He'll hang around and make up a super PAC like Palin did. See if they can squeeze some more money out of their base.
Lone_Star_Dem
(28,158 posts)He's not looking at a great future in politics after his remark, and the subsequent backlash. The party is not happy with him, and his ideology will only hurt him on a national level.
Even if he wins the senate seat (which is suddenly a big if) he's going to face a challenger in the next election with the blessing of the GOP.
He's looking out for himself at this point. Be damned who it may hurt in the Republican party.

Lone_Star_Dem
(28,158 posts)Not all Republicans are as willing to embrace his ideology though. This, and the call by so many other Republicans for him to quit will hurt him.
How much remains to be seen. The establishment Republicans will not be pleased with the damage he's going to continue to cause the party though. That's for sure.
Whether they choose not to vote, or go out and vote for McCaskill, is a mystery at this point.

(32,034 posts)The politico link says Ache-in-the-ass made his statement on the Hannity radio show. And I recently learned on media matters that Hannity had called on Ache to drop out.

sorry...you will have to hunt trolls elsewhere. :0)
Care Acutely
(1,370 posts)I don't have much in the way of spare time - but listening to those assholes is always educational. I have to live and work among people who are brainwashed by that nonsense and find it enormously helpful to hear the blowhard talking points they try to parrot first hand.
I'm probably not the only one who does this. Are you just automatically paranoid if a person doesn't have a high post count, or they've listened to Hannity, or both? Try to be more welcoming. Trolls will out themselves soon enough, I'm sure.
alp227
(32,034 posts)However, I freely admit I peek at Michael Savage every now and then. I think I'm biased in which RW host is dumber. I guess I was a bit too angry, thinking why would a DUer by chance stumble upon Akin's interview on Hannity?
Care Acutely
(1,370 posts)Always amusing because I think he's probably the most insecure gasbag on radio and TV. He would regularly have like 15 -20 images of himself in photos, silhouettes, etc on the front page alone.
Then one day I got a nasty virus there and I thought "how appropriate."
Ended my visits, and I bought a Mac. I still don't go there though. I do kinda miss the chuckles.
Peace!

(17,064 posts)I would guess a Senate campaign in MO with a chance of winning would need 10 times as much. I don't know how much cash he already has, or the personal wealth hes willing to spend, but without RNC and PAC money its a longshot, although possible.

(25,183 posts)We need him to stay in, McCaskill will kick his stupid ass in the general election. That might not happen with another generic Republicon.

(14,177 posts)I hope some one is keeping track of all the GOPers that signed on his rape bill. I hope someone ferrets out the other 216 republicans that also signed the rape bill. Every single one of them needs to have their political careers ended even and especially Paul Ryan.
