Please don't suspend your campaign, Todd Akin. Resist calls from so-called "conservatives" to step aside. You only said what they all think. And don't let the librul media get you down either.
For you, sir, have spoken truth to power. You know there is a clear difference between legitimate rape and illegitimate rape. You know that some of those women were probably just asking for it, what with those clothes they wear and all. You know that date rape doesn't really count as rape. Nosiree, you know that rape is only rape when involves a guy wearing a black ski mask and holding some sort of deadly weapon. Bravo for you standing up to the feminist agenda. Someone needs to put these women back in their place. And much kudos to you for explaining exactly how the female reproductive system works. Obviously millions of years of experience, and years of gynecological studies just don't mean diddly squat. You, sir, understand how a woman's body really works, even better than women themselves.
Also, Todd Palin would like to thank you for making him no longer the biggest asshole named Todd in politics.

(27,451 posts)for what it is worth and I am not good at these things is that Akin will stay in the race.
The powers that be in the GOP made a big deal of rulling their support but they are sitting back waiting for this to go away. With a bit less than 3 months out and given the short attention span of people, they will wait until the middle of October and dump a bunch of money into the race.
They don't really have a choice. They know it and Akin knows it. They don't want to lose the Senate. They are more pissed that Akin essentially outed their reactionary positions than they have any disagreement in what he said.
They are really hoping this all blows over. It's up to the Dems to make sure it doesn't.
