1. I do think there are not a small number of people that vote for persecution. They feel they are

sinners and have a need to be persecuted. ... all operating at an unconscious level. There is a lot of that espoused in this culture, the sinners that need to be punished and I think some reinforce it onto themselves.

4. Their racism overrides any concern about women's rights issues.

Plus, they think that they will not be personally affected by the attacks on women's rights. And - they are clueless about the economic issues.
