Rudy Giuliani's Latest Interview Flub: 'I Shouldn't Have Said Tapes...No Tapes'

President Donald Trump‘s lawyer Rudy Giuliani seems to have stepped in it during another interview. He also may have possibly revealed a bit too much.

During an interview with the New Yorker that was published on Monday, Giuliani first said — as proof the BuzzFeed story was wrong — that he listened to tapes. Then, he insisted there were no tapes.

In response to a question about how he knew that the Robert Mueller disputed BuzzFeed story was false, Giuliani said this:

Because I have been through all the tapes, I have been through all the texts, I have been through all the e-mails, and I knew none existed. And then, basically, when the special counsel said that, just in case there are any others I might not know about, they probably went through others and found the same thing.

Then, when The New Yorker’s Isaac Chotiner rightly asked him to explain what tapes he meant, Giuliani immediately backtracked.

the tape. My bet is any all in office meetings with Cohen and as many phone calls Cohen could record. Mueller has most but perhaps not all of them.

Cohen was lucky he had an insurance plan in place with dealing with criminal like trump.
