Rep. Steve King: I’ve Never Heard Of A Girl Getting Pregnant From Statutory Rape Or Incest

The STUPID just never STOPS. . . .

Rep. Steve King, one of the most staunchly conservative members of the House, was one of the few Republicans who did not strongly condemn Rep. Todd Akin Monday for his remarks regarding pregnancy and rape. On Monday, King signaled why — he might agree with parts of Akin’s assertion.

King told an Iowa reporter he’s never heard of a child getting pregnant from statutory rape or incest.

“Well I just haven’t heard of that being a circumstance that’s been brought to me in any personal way,” King told KMEG-TV Monday, “and I’d be open to discussion about that subject matter.”

A Democratic source flagged King’s praise of Akin in the KMEG interview to TPM. But potentially more controversial for King is his suggestion that pregnancies from statutory rape or incest don’t exist or happen rarely. A 1996 review by the Guttmacher Institute found “at least half of all babies born to minor women are fathered by adult men.”

1) Because he blocks himself from reading the sources which would educate him.

2) Because, in his circles, there are few women who would come out and admit they were a) raped & b) pregnant because of that rape.

3) Because, in his circles, there are few women who would come out and admit that they had an abortion because of number 2.

Huckabee tried to mitigate Aikin's mess by saying "Without wonderful, wonderful rape, we wouldn't have the magical glorious musical stylings of Ethel Waters!!"

Oh yes--he DID go there (the quote is capricious, the intent is right on the money).

Let's all hear it for forcible rape!!!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2191443/Mike-Huckabee-comes-Todd-Akins-defense-saying-forcible-rapes-create-extraordinary-people.html

Now Mike Huckabee says 'forcible rapes' create 'extraordinary' people as he comes to Todd Akin's defense

...'Ethel Waters, for example, was the result of a forcible rape,' Huckabee said of the late singer, as reported in the Los Angeles Times.

'I used to work for James Robison back in the 1970s. He leads a large Christian organisation. He was the result of a forcible rape.'
He added: 'I know it happens, and yet even from those horrible, horrible tragedies of rape, which are inexcusable and indefensible, life has come and sometimes, those people are able to do extraordinary things.'

...On his show, Huckabee was referencing earlier comments made by Texan televangelist James Robison...'My mother was a practical nurse and was raped by the alcoholic son of the elderly man she cared for,' Robison told the Christian Broadcasting Network. 'It was a forced - I don't think we would call it violent - but he forced his affections on her, and at age 40 she conceived me.'

Good grief these people are completely insane--"forced his AFFECTIONS on her?" Affections? Really?

You really cannot fix stupid, it would seem.

Or perhaps the innate defenses of the 16 year-old girl can only be penetrated by the super-sperm of a 17 year-old boy. When we men turn 18 the sperm just kind of stops trying.

Incredible!

21. King says he supports Akin’s character
Tue Aug 21, 2012, 03:12 PM

“Todd Akin is a strong Christian man, with a wonderful family,” King said.

So effing what - there are many strong Christian men with a wonderful family - our POTUS for one. But many Christian men - real Christian men do not believe in forcing their views down others throats.

In 2011, the Guttmacher Institute reported that two out of three women having abortions in the U.S. identified as Christian.

As for King and his asinine statement:

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho - A 10-year-old girl who gave birth to a baby girl after being raped actually became pregnant when she was only 9 years old, sources have confirmed.

Too often rapes are not reported, especially where young girls are concerned - they are scared, ignorant in the sense they don't know what is happening and don't know about their bodies and they are often told that if they say anything they or a loved one will be hurt.
