I'm at school sitting outside near the bus stop and right next to me are three other students, two women and a man, were talking. One woman appears to be around 40, the other two in their early twenties. The young man just said, "Did you hear about that dude running for president? He said a woman can't get pregnant if she's raped. That if she gets pregnant, she liked it.". You should see the looks on the women's faces!

Combine this with the ignorant tripe I got treated to on NPR this morning, and I despair for this nation. An Idiocracy looms.

(4,359 posts)the problem is that some of them are too low to understand the message and, even worse, sometimes they change the channel and hear the wrong thing.

(37,161 posts)...so if it wakes up the "I don't really pay attention to politics" sector to the looniness, I'll restrain my intellectual grumbling.

(11,541 posts)they will 'accidentally' hear and/or watch the President say "... and that's why I'm running for President of the United States ..." on utube or something... and falsely 'associate' "That dude running for president..." with him.
Happened before with too many youngsters.... (confusion from 'ignoramus-ness'...)
