Why is Todd Akin walking back his firmly held beliefs?

Why won't the Republican Party let Todd Akin be Todd Akin?

No wonder so many people have an unfavorable opinion of politics, when someone like Todd Akin stands up for his own morals and values, the party vampires are there to suck the blood out of them.

Akin should stay and fight… (And consequently take the rest of the motherfucking Republican Party down with him)

I totally agree. Fight for what you believe in, Akin! It's the right thing to do! For yourself, and for all of America!

His apologies were for how he phrased his words, not the beliefs behind them. His second apology said raped women can get pregnant which agrees with what he said before. This time he just left out the words "legitimate" and "rarely."

Let's see him completely disavow the "science" and the "doctors" he referred to to say plainly he believes there is an equal chance of a raped woman getting pregnant as a woman having regular intercourse. I would consider that an actual apology.
