These crazies were elected. By actual voters. By people you likely know.

All of these crazy people got elected. Barring some vote cheating here or there, they mostly got elected legally.

Not just the nut du jour, Akin, but the whole fucking bunch of usual suspects.

Bachmann

Palin

King

Ryan

All the Teabaggers

Wow.

If they're fucked up, think how fucked up their supporters are.

I had an argument with a high school friend on Facebook the other day who said that using birth control was worshiping sex instead of God and we need to leave everything to God's Devine plan. She has also posted on her site that same-sex marriage showed the complete disintegration of civilization and started that rant with "and so it begins".

Meanwhile back at the ranch, or rather the normal interaction part of her brain, she ends our verbal tiff by insuring I'm not mad and her and speaking kindly of our very good mutual friend from high school, who is openly gay and also said she had been talking to another friend from high school recently who had good things to say about me and our other friend. This guy is openly gay as well, and even came out in college. WTF? I guess one part of her brain just thinks the world of us except when she's into the other part of her brain that sees me as a slut and doomed to hell for supporting the use of birth control, and our other two friends an abomination for being gay.

This is the way they act. She has also returned to school to finish that degree she never quite finished. She will vote against the student aid she relies on and her own opportunities for health care and even eventual social security and social security and medicare for her much beloved father. She will vote against all that with the bad part of her brain that is certain me and my two friends are doomed.

I know a bunch of Republican voters.. And some Paulites as well..

In fact I know a very nice black woman in her 70's, a sophisticated artist and poet, that was over the Moon for Obama in 2008 and is voting Ron Paul this year..
