Let's Not let the Republicans be Able to Declare a Victory by Changing the Narrative

I noticed the Republican spin masters using the term "Border Security, including a wall or barriers".

Let's get all of this straight from the very beginning. Trump wanted to build a "big, beautiful, powerful wall" from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. It was 2,000 miles long, 30 feet high and made of concrete with steel reinforced rebars,. His supporters chanted "Build That Wall", not "Fix That Fence" or "We Want Barriers in Certain Locations". The wall is a barrier, but every barrier is not a wall. Experts may recommend that a fence be repaired or may find, in certain locations, that a fence needs to be extended for security.

We can't let Trump declare victory because a few miles of fence is added to the southern border and another few miles is repaired.

I have always said that the compromise to this situation is to allocate $5.7 Billion for "border security", but that money should be expressly dedicated to hiring more border guards, more judges and legal support for asylum seekers, a vast majority for humanitarian needs, and to strengthen our ports of entry to detect drugs coming in at every part of this country. If this includes a few hundred million or so for new and repaired fencing, that is far from building a wall, and we should certainly remind the Orange Asshole and his supporters of that.

(i.e. let's rub Trump's nose in it), that's a bad strategy.

If Trump feels he has to continue pushing for the wall because it is the only way he can save face, we'll be back in the same position in 21 days.

They want to waste taxpayers' money. They are fiscally irresponsible. They are willing to cut food stamps for the poor in order to pay for a wall that nobody wants and is a total waste of money. They used to be a much more responsible Party.

It's not about the wall or the fence or whatever, it's about his failed dominance display. and it matters that he got dominated by a woman. If they build a few miles of fence, it will be only because she allowed it. And make sure to call it a fence, not a wall or barrier.
