What are the lessons learned from the "shutdown"?

First of all, there is no negotiating with Donald Trump. It is always a death match. He wants to humiliate you, embarrass you, demoralize you, and completely destroy you. He totally wins and you totally lose. There is no other way for him.

That is why he was humiliated and defeated in the shutdown battle. He could not take 'Yes" for answer. He wanted to stomp his political enemies into the dirt. Because he was incapable of compromise, it was he that got stomped into the dirt.

Democrats now understand the rules when fighting Donald Trump. There can be no compromise or surrender. He must be defeated thoroughly. He must be publicly humiliated and demoralized. He will have it no other way.
