I would like to apologize to anyone who was offended by my shutdown posts.

My anger for Trump was off the charts. My Irish blood was NOT boiling, it was on fire. All my anger was about Trump. I was not angry with the federal workers. I was extremely frustrated and I feared for their lives. My anger showed through and the true meaning of my posts were lost.

There have been shutdowns before and I never called for federal workers to refuse to work. This time was different. I thought this was an extremely dangerous UNIQUE situation. A madman was attacking the federal workers and destroying their lives. A madman who does not care if you get hurt or even die. I thought this called for drastic action by the federal workers , including breaking the law. It was a matter of life and death for some of them.

I understood SOME federal workers could not refuse to work because of the type of work they did. They worked without pay for moral reasons. Nothing wrong with that.

I also understood many workers were waiting and hoping the shutdown would end. That's what happened in the past. I thought waiting was too dangerous.

Thousands upon thousands of federal workers did refuse to work. That number was growing everyday. At the end of the shutdown staff shortages started to cause big problems at some airports. If the shutdown continued air travel would have slowed to a crawl. That's what I was looking for. I thought they waited to long.

I do understand why some people were upset with my posts. I guess the bottom line is, Don't post when your blood is on fire.

It's so easy to post things when you're flaming mad and regret it later. No harm man, you're good people.

I appreciate your passion and contributions.

No harm, no foul.

Keep it up. You express yourself well even if others disagree with you.

federal employees to slaves and sheep, etc. because they didn't handle their situations as courageously and awesomely as you claim to have handled yours - and even when challenged and shown how offensive your posts were, you just doubled down.

So, your apology is nice, but until you acknowledge and apologize for that, it just doesn't go far enough.

But "that's all you're getting" is par for the course, so such a response is hardly surprising.
