There were no winners in the "shutdown"...

Although within our partisan divides, Pelosi kicked his ass.

But, outside the partisan divides, our country did not "win".

It was a cruel thing to do.

It was almost unfathomable that someone would try to hold our country hostage in such a way.

There are no "winners" in such a political fight, only losers.

Common sense would tell us that it would be foolish to wait until the next election.

The effort should be made to rid ourselves of the threat in the White House as soon as possible, in my opinion.

I like the fact that the Dems are putting together legislation to prevent any future shut downs from ever happening.

He's been exposed as a bully who can be knocked down.

Even his own party doesn't support his ideas.

The country won because now everyone knows Trump can be resisted and defied.

In battles, sometimes you lose something to win something else that's bigger.

If Trump had prevailed, he would have brought further destruction using the same techniques.

This isn't hard to understand.

Anytime fascism is defeated it's huge win for mankind,

If Nancy Pelosi gave into to Trump's terrorist demands, he would change his strategy to operate like a terrorist to continue getting his demands met

Instead Trump is laid out on a stretcher and Stephen Miller is crawling around ringside on his knees looking for Trump's dentures.

2,200 men the first day. Did we suffer casualties? Definitely. But it was an enormous victory nonetheless. Democracy kicked a wannabe dictator's ass yesterday. That's huge.
