He leads by 1 in a poll that favor the GOP by 9 points in the sample. In other words, he's doomed and with him any chance the GOP had of getting 51 seats in the senate if they won ever seat where they held a reasonable shot.
But even if he wins he has been turned into a pariah by the GOP. The odds that he would accommodate their far-right agenda was also doomed the instant they chose to throw him overboard. Any person as arrogant as Akin -- as demonstrated by his idiotic statement and subsequent refusal to quit the race -- won't soon forget the insult done to him by the GOP attempt to run him out of town on a rail. He'll be bitter and surly every step of the way.
If he were to win; which he more than likely will not.

(14,177 posts)I hope he decides he is tired of taking the heat himself on the issue and says hey these guys voted for this bill. I hope he tries to help them with their campaign(ok too much to ask he is toxic they won't have him), I hope he takes the whole GOP party down with him.
