3. If we have a president elected on a plurality in 2020, it will not be good for the country.

We need a Democratic president elected on greater than 50 pct of the popular vote.

If Trump is gone then MSNBC will not need him to bash Trump. He can help this guy be a spoiler and continue to make money as the “sane” Republican.

Pardon my language, but if Schultz, a supposed "lifelong Democrat", wants to run, why doesn't he run as a Democrat? If he were a #NeverTrump independent, that would be different, because he would peel away just as many or more potential Trump voters. But how many Republicans or Republican leaning independents will vote for a Starbucks CEO who was a lifelong Democrat? This is madness. Someone needs to convince this guy not to do this.

And fuck Steve Schmidt too for doing this. I have enjoyed his poetic criticisms of Trump. Does he want to see another 4 years so he can write about that? It looks like it.

10. Schmidt is a conservative and he's trying to find a way to save the Republican Party

It's doomed. Oh well.

I don't think it's worth saving but maybe they can rebrand as the Centrist Party or something. There are a number of Republicans looking to be the savior of the GOP: Romney, Kasich, Schultz.

11. I am SO disappointed

I’ve always stopped what I was doing to listen to him... his anti-Trump rants were things of exquisite beauty. I’m so disappointed that he’s selling his talents in aid of anything that could keep this gang of fools in office for four more years. I’m not sad that he’s a Republican—it would be an entirely different thing if he were working for a primary opponent of Trump’s. But this feels like a family friend betraying us.

13. Just because a Republican hates Trump doesn't mean he's on our side.

I always keep that in mind when I read any of the Republican anti-Trump columnists in the Washington Post, too.
