Why did so many people working in the Trump campaign and transition choose to lie about Russia?

They chose not to believe that Russia messed with our elections. They even lied under oath and some went to jail. What were they trying to hide?

At seven thousand and some odds lies documented by the Washington Post, I stopped keeping track. That is what they do. They flock together and they lie.

Then they lie to themselves. They simply cannot support someone who would tell a lie about a wall. He said he would build a big beautiful wall on our border. He lied.

As if this was the only lie he ever told?

1. It's hard to reconcile all of the lies by so many people

Rachel Maddow did a piece about just this point: Why did so many people in Trump's orbit lie about things that could have been inconsequential? By lying, they ruined their reputations and many face criminal charges. (I think it was on her Jan. 25th show.)

Perhaps it's actually quite simple. There is an on-going conspiracy in TrumpWorld and the lies were/are told to cover a deeper and more dangerous truth.

I'll bet Robert Mueller already knows what that truth is.
