Senator Richard Blumenthal (D- CT) is working with Senator Chuck Grassley (R- IA) to push a Special Counsel Transparency Act to ensure that any the work of special counsel, including Robert Mueller, would be made available to both Congress and the public.
Blumenthal joined Rachel Maddow tonight to talk about it and he started off by praising Grassley for his commitment to transparency.
But after talking about the bill, Maddow brought up the issue of people lying to Congressgiven the indictment against Roger Stoneand asked, Can you tell us if other Judiciary Committee witnesses have had their testimony sent over to Mueller, sent to the special counsels office as yet? Blumenthal said this in response
After Blumenthals MSNBC appearance, Trump blasted him on Twitter, invoking the nickname he came up with the Connecticut senator in reference to when, on the 2010 campaign trail, Blumenthal was busted for saying he served in Vietnam when he did not:

(56,828 posts)Blumenthal has been in public service at the state or national level since the mid 1970s - a good 45 years now, or over 16,000 days.
Over the course of his public career, he has given thousands of speeches to veterans groups, veteran's affiliated organizations and various town and state organizations.
He was in the Marine Corps reserves during Vietnam.
In almost every speech he said he was in the Marine Corps reserves. A handful of times, he did not. Big deal - he forgot a few words, but the other 99.95% of the time, he was fine. Should we judge Trump about the times he his misspoken or misspelled something on Twitter?
