One conclusion from watching Whitaker today is hoo boy the GOP is going to try hard to get Barr confirmed before Whitaker has to testify in the House on Feb. 8. That hearing is a disaster in the making.

2. Unless Barr has "recusal" stamped on his confirmation based on his conversations with Pence.

Last thing Trump wants is another recused AG. I'm not sure there's a guarantee that he'd have to recuse but the odds are better than 0%.

Seeing that Republicans delayed the vote today makes me wonder if there are conversations about Mitch giving Trump cover by killing it committee so they can come up with another name...maybe this time with 5 minutes of vetting (vs. the current crop of non-vetted appointees).

Maybe, if he wants to make up with her, he can offer the job to Anne Coulter.

Trump has already said that he wouldn't have appointed Sessions had he known that he was going to actually follow the law and recuse himself.
